Michael
D. Iseman, M.D.
Mike Iseman grew up in Fremont, Nebraska, receiving his undergraduate
degree from Princeton University, where he majored in history and
played football. He attended Columbia University's College of Physicians
and Surgeons, receiving his md in 1965. He received his training
in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine in New York City between
1965 and 1972.
Joining the faculty of the University of Colorado in 1972, he spent
ten years at Denver General Hospital. Then he moved to National
Jewish Hospital in 1982 as Head of the clinical mycobacterial disease
program. His primary research interests relate to drug-resistant
tuberculosis and disease due to the “atypical mycobacteria.”
He currently is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary
Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He is also Editor-in-chief of
the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases.
